Clinique have launched a new cream to powder foundation stick described as ‘portable perfection for full-face coverage, or bare-minimum touch-ups’.
Editor Yvonne. O puts it to the test.
VERDICT: I really like the chubby stick design - it's far less messy than my usual liquid foundation. The coverage is both buildable and blendable, which meant I could add more coverage where needed without my skin appearing ‘cakey’.
I used a combination of two shades; Gargantuan Golden (for my nose and cheeks) and Ample Amber (for covering pigmentation on my chin and jawline). Whilst I did not purchase additional shades, these foundation sticks come in a variety of colours, so could potentially work for contouring. There is a decent selection of shades to choose from including three for deeper skin tones.
The application was relatively easy. I just streaked it over the skin and blended it in with the clinique foundation buff brush (or sometimes I used my fingers). It’s oil free and lasted most of the day, I only needed to touch up my t-zone once towards the end of the day before heading off to after work drinks.
VALUE: Retailing at £23.00, it is an investment, however a little goes a long way.
